What would cause 3 quick beeps just right before shut down on an Emonster 500a?

(Normally 3 beeps indicate memory errors but I have never run across the error at shut down)

BIOS (Basic Input/Output System)
Okay, so what does that mean? Well, it's really the first program that yer puter loads and runs. The processor uses the BIOS to get the puter started after you turn it on. It is also used to manage the flow of data between the computer and any attached hardware such as the hard drive, video card, mouse, keyboard and even the printer......lmfao :lol:

Its AMIBIOS and from this info in the following link its stating its Memory error in the base memory (1st 64K)

Yes....

Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Information.
On the Tools menu, click System Configuration Utility. On the General tab, click Advanced.
Click to select the Disable Fast Shutdown check box, click OK, and then click OK again.
Click Yes when you are prompted to restart your computer.

The "Disable Fast Shutdown" option was discontinued in Win98SE and WinME, as subsequent Operating System releases were altered to fix this "bug" permanently. However, some early versions of Win98SE still have this option

This is the machine I had brad check my HJT log. I restored using the restore disc. Didnt notice the beeps untill today. :oops:

Runs great just dont wanna sell a used machine if its got error beeps :wink:

In the mean time maybe someone will come up with a solution.

Do they sound just like the Bios beeps? Do you have any pc cards installed?

and yes there is a modem and yes they sound like bios beeps, 3 quick just at shut down. I removed memory sticks blew out slots and put back in. There was a ethernet card but it has been removed.
Ya know this may be way off and I really dont think this is the problem but do you think after using the restore disc and beings the memory was upgraded that has something to do with it. It originally came with 64mb and is now 256mb. nah nm thats prob not it.
