Euro 2004

Postby slp » Mon May 10, 2004 4:13 pm

Hi,

I have just bought Euro 2004 by EA Sports and the game installs and plays fine, except for the fact that there is no sound at all. I tried to open an audio file from the game through Program Files but although they appear to be Windows Media Files the system says "unable to open file".

I have the latest Sound Card Drivers and according to the system check everything is ok, and the sound works fine on all other applications. My system is as follows:

Windows XP
AMD Athlon 2600
Nvidia GeForce 5600
512 Mb RAM
PCI 128 (WMD) Sound Card

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You in advance.

PC Guy,

You are correct. It seems that although the files are Windows Media files they do only open through the game. I am running DirectX 9.0b and I ran the DXDIAG program and all sounds played and there were no other problems. As for my sound being set for digital, I don't know. It will be set to system defaults as I wouldn't know where to start looking for any changes. Any advice on how I check this?

Thanks for replying. You too Cactus, I think the file extensions are .WMV but I tried playing music files from another EA Sports game that does work in the game through Windows Media Player and I got the same error message as in Euro 2004.

Any further advice would be greatly appreciated as it looks like a good game slightly ruined by missing sound.

SLP.
