IE 6 Won't Update and Tools Disappeared

Postby julbox3134 » Tue Apr 20, 2004 4:40 am

I'm not sure what is going on with my Internet Explorer. First of all, I have two visible desktop icons related to IE. One is the "blue e" that says launch internet explorer browser when I place the mouse pointer over it. The other just looks like some type of document that says MSN Explorer (2) when mouse pointer is placed on it. When I try to remove the program to reinstall from control panel, it isn't even on the list, nor is the repair tool. When I try to update it from the MSN Windows Update site, it downloads and updates to about 65% then quits. It says some of the components couldn't be installed. Can anyone help me out here?

Right-click on each icon and choose "Properties". What does it say the target program is? (path & filename)
