contents of a DOS screen

Postby noby » Sat Apr 03, 2004 2:01 pm

hi there,

I want to know if ther is a way of doing the following :
I have a program, running under XP that opens different windows, which follow up when you enter or hit a key. One of these is a DOS window, and I want to copy the text in it to a file.

Is this possible? (I think yes, everything is possible with computers) but I don't know how to go about it. I can get a screen print, but i don't want that, I want a txt or doc file as result. And I cannot run this in DOS, otherwise I could redirect it to a file

awaiting your highlights on this problem

thanks

liljim,

this is useful info, but not in my case. The program that opens the dos-box does not display a title bar or menu bar, so i can't do anything. You'll have to look way down in your grey cells for this.

I thought of a possibility : paste the screen in a file, scan the image with an ocr program and then you have the txt. But maybe you have a better idea, because this is not easy to do

What happens if you right click on the cmd screen itself?
