Ok, did some checking for you. This is from TechIMO:

..."On a DP2000 the F10 CMOS setup utilities are stored in a hidden system partition on the hard disk drive - quite frequently, when the hard disk is replaced or the OS upgraded by persons not familiar with the system, these utilities are either not re-installed or may be deleted.

You have to go to HP/Compaq's website and download a program to change the BIOS. Unlike most computers, these Deskpro's do not have the "setup" program programmed into the BIOS . .. its seperate.

You can download them here - - these can be run from diskette or installed on the hard drive. You run the set to create a set of floppies, then boot with either floppy, it will tell you which one you need.

You will have to let it create a partition for the bios, which means loosing everything on the hd, unless you use Partition Magic to make the partition, or perhaps back up the drive to somewhere, then copy it back after the bios is installed.

You will have to start by removing all partitions from the drive..

It's a very painfull process, takes a lot of time, so many reboots... is it worth it?"

Brad,

I hope you're a lady, because you'll get kissed!!
The stupid me downloaded these disks already some years ago( i think it must have been 1997 or 1998 did the necessary, and forgot about them. You brought it back so again, thank you

by the way, can you fix my memory also (I mean the holes in it?)

many thanks
