I've just purchased a "USB 2.0 to IDE SATA 2.5 3.5 Hard external Drive Converter Adapter Cable" and wondered if the USB cable will supply sufficient power to the drive. Will I need to power it using a separate supply and transformer?
Most of time, those cable come with the capacity to power up the HDD. But still take precaution that some large HDD may need extra electricity power to spin on.
