Try this:
Do a Ctrl / Alt / Del and Click the "Processes" Tab. Highlite the bartshel.exe and click "End Process". Click "Yes" on the warning. Now look and see if there's another bartshel.exe and do the same for it.
Exit the Task Manager and open Windows Explorer and navigate to: C:\Program Files\ISP50\bin\bartshel.exe
Right Click on bartshel.exe and select "Rename". Rename it to bartshel.old.
In addition, Check these items in HiJack This and have it "Remove/Fix.

After you have done the scans with Highjack This and you see the results it is a good idea to print off the list.
How do I know which ones are bad? I just end process on 2 of those bartshel.exe when I got online. Didn't work. Still stops responding after a few minutes.

bad registry keys

Postby badpolarbear » Thu Mar 04, 2004 1:31 am

The bad files are the ones that were suggested by other members of the forum. Even though though you deleted them with highjack this they are still in the regisrty. HKEY's are for example HKLM which is Hkey Local Machine, HKCU which is HKEY Current User etc. Look at which ones that were suggested to be removed and go to regedit and find them. Its a difficult time consuming job and a dangerous one. Fooling with registry keys can cause a lot of damage. One thing you might try is to find a copy of Norton Anti Virus with Win Doctor on it and run that. Another good program to try is SureClean

If all else fails reformat your system and make sure you reinstall all the security programs suggested to you before you go roaming around the net again.

Did you rename bartshel.exe as I suggested? Have you done it again since you reinstalled your ISP's software?
When you tell HiJack This to Remove/Fix checked items do you have IE and all other programs closed?
