Reset CMOS USB device no longer working

Postby monsterzombie » Thu Feb 26, 2004 4:13 am

Alright, i had to reset my CMOS after setting some things too high in my bios. Once i got it all working again, i find out that when i plug in my usb game pad i recieve the message "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognise it." This was a complete suprise to me because it had worked perfectly fine before. And now all of the sudden its not. To make sure its not the game pad, I plugged in another one I have and get the same message. I also used different USB ports also without success. I have also gotten all the updates from microsoft update, and have run out of ideas. If you can help me please do. :)

Another prob with USB different computer

Postby monsterzombie » Thu Feb 26, 2004 4:18 am

Apparently for my friend and I USBs are not our cup of tea, however, his problem is much more confusing than mine. We were sitting here playing games, clicking our mouses away, and out of nowhere his mouse turns off. Thinking it was his mouse we try mine. Still doesnt work. Soo I come to find out that one of his USB controllers "cannot find" its driver. I run windows update, and got that problem solved. But windows cannot detect when a device is plugged in, or the USB ports arent working. Any help for this would be great. Thanks
