recycle bin problem

Postby badpolarbear » Mon Feb 23, 2004 3:11 pm

My web browser was highjacked and I seem to have done a pretty good job of cleaning up the mess. There seems to be one small problem and Im not sure if it is relevant to the browser highjack. When I go into recycle bin to delete files I get a message " Cannot remove folder DC2. Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use." When I open recycle bin the file seems to be hidden because it doesnt show. I tried doing a search for it in START FIND FILES and Folders but it isnt there. Any suggestions?

Is it connected to a process somehow? I had my browser hijacked and I couldn't delete the file that was changing my homepage until I ended the malicious process.

I'd run your Anti-Virus program again(updated) just to be sure. Next, empty your Temp and Temporary Internet Folders.
See if that helps.
DC2.exe is part of a worm.
