Help me with my hookups

Can anyone please help me... I have 4 USB ports and none of them are working suddenly. None are reconizing my devices anymore. Can someone help me on this matter???

Right click on My Computer>select properties>hardware>device manager

are their any X in there?

No there're not also I tried updating each driver to no avail

is this the same machine the card reader quit working?

Yes it is, they seemed to have stopped working around the time I was trying to get a virus off the computer.

virus may have been a coincidence, its more likely that the usb header on the motherboard had just went bad if the usb ports and card reader both quit. The card reader, in all probability, connects to a usb header inside. For all of it to quit working it would sound more like a hardware failure to me.

I tried using some other device. The usb seems to work fine just not for the device i was using. So I am bacck to wondering how to fix the SD card problem
