Windows live messanger video call problem, please help

Postby kendji » Mon Oct 22, 2007 9:14 am

Hey guys, first things first I'm sorry to barge in on this forum and demand help like this but lately MSN has been flaming me beyond belief .

Currently I'm operating on Windows Live Messenger 8.1

I've been using the software for some time now now, and in my job description being connected and using video calls is a must, I'm a freelance writer so sometimes I need to debate my work with my editor. I NEVER had problems with MSN before, never, and the more I used it the better I appreciated the quality of the video and audio features. But, yesterday I had to make a Video Call to one of my clients to give some minor feedback, but the sound was lagging ( I mean like a good 34 sec lag ) the video quality was slow and the frames kept freezing, there was no way in hell you could hear or understand anything. I dont know if its MSN or my PC but the thing is I never had problems with it before . thought at first that it was a internet speed glitch so I did a "speed test" online .... 4Mb/sec .... sooo that wasnt it, then I thought I probably was MSN . I restarted my pc a few times, signed in and out, changed my connection settings but nothing, today I had to make another call and the problem still persists.

I resorted to yahoo.... which I hate, there was a 3 sec lag but at lest I could hear the person, but when I tried to use the cam it started to slow down ( but then again yahoo always did that)

I could really use some help on this topic, I'd really like for it to work properly again

edit: I changed the title cause somebody reminder me that I had live messenger :P
