Problems formating vista in xp (dual boot)

Postby coneil1 » Sun Sep 23, 2007 5:33 am

hi there

i wanted to get rid on every thing on my second hard disk which has vista installed on it, but as per always ran into a few problems. now vista is installed on the D:\ drive. i tried to format it in XP by right clicking on the d:\ drive in my computer but it failed to format after 15 minutes, so i tried computer managment and format was shaded out.

any help would be great.

thank you

coneil1,

If the format is grayed out then something might be cross linked to that drive from windows XP.
Are you sure that only Vista is installed on that drive?

There are ways around this but I want to make sure nothing is installed on D drive from windows XP.

an extension to geckos responce, if you've installed games, programs, or hardware to the D drive are things he is most likely referring to.
