Postby Lorib » Thu Jun 14, 2007 4:04 pm

I hope you all can help me. I am at my witts end. Everytime I try to run my Mytunes (which is gone somehow from my system) or try to run my Spybot or Adware, I get this blue screen with a stop message.

STOP: 0X0000008E (0XC0000005, OX805A9BB1, OXEEEDB964, OXOOOOOOOO)

Beginning dump of physical memory.

Hello Lorib, and welcome to our forum.

First let's deal with the known problems in the hijackthis log then we will get to the error message.

Warning these instructions are for this thread only!
You should never attempt to use them for anything else!

Please copy this to Notepad and save it to your desktop or print it. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.
You should not have any other open windows when you are following the procedures below.

Start HijackThis and click "Do a system scan only" put a check next to each of the following entries:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {549B5CA7-4A86-11D7-A4DF-000874180BB3} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)
O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file)
O16 - DPF: {FF65677A-8977-48CA-916A-DFF81B037DF3} - http://download.overpro.com/WildApp.cab

Now click the "Fixed checked" button and then close HijackThis

Now click Start, click My computer and then right click on your C: drive and select "Properties"
Now click the "Disk cleanup" button, in the next window put a check next to Recycle Bin, Temporary Internet Files and Temporary Files click OK and then click yes in the popup window.

Restart your computer and post a new HiJackThis log when you reply.

That error has to do with either drivers or it could be bad ram lets see if we can get some more information about the error.

Go to Start > Control Panel > System > Advanced tab > Startup and Recovery section
Settings button > System Failure section > check the box 'Write an event to the system log' and uncheck the automatically restart box.
Now when you get the BSOD the offending file should be named.
Write down the name of the offending file on the BSOD and post it back here.

Lorib,

Good nothing came back, Your log is clean

Any more information on the BSOD error?

If not then let's see if it is possibly your ram:
Please download
Choose you flavor of bootable device, floppy or CD and download the zip file for that media.
Boot the system from your chosen media and let it run for a couple of hours, if you get any errors then it is bad ram.
If the system has more than one stick of ram then try removing one stick and retest with memtest 86.

If you get no errors with memtest 86 then we will have to look at updating drivers.

There is also a chance that you have incompatible hardware
You should check Microsoft's Windows XP compatible page found here:
http://winqual.microsoft.com/HCL/Default.aspx?m=x

Make sure you check each piece of peripheral hardware like modem, video, nic, sound, usb.
