my advice on ram is get what you can afford, usually try to get a 2.5 cas or lower if you can to see best affect on your machine I am getting 4 1GB sticks with 2.5 cas which is pretty nice, however cas 2 would be a bit better :)

Thanks Atboslja,

I live across the big pond and although the pound is strong most paces will not ship out and i am not sure if the memory runs on the same voltages as it does over here i am looking atb the following ram after many hours of study
http://www.overclockercafe.com/Reviews/ ... /index.htm

The only problem is would it run in my motherboard as its 2.2.2.5 ram and i suppose high voltage and i have checked the motherboards manual which is

http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?M ... -SATA2&s=n

any ideas folks i know i am becoming a pain i the butt as you guys say but i just want it to work 1st time i relise i may have to fiddle with the setting to get it to run t1 settings Thanks in advance Ade

The memory you choose will work fine and as far as setting the timings, you really wont have to. Unless your trying to overclock you can simply let the bios use whats called SPD timings. Memory modules have a small chip on the corner called an SPD chip, this chip basicly tells the bios what timings work with that memory module. 99% of the time, SPD is the default setting in a bios anyway so you shouldnt have an issue getting up and running.

Yes as liljim said the Corsair RAM you chose will work fine with that motherboard, and I wouldnt mess with overclocking much if you dont know about cas latency, timings, and such. Its really not worth the hassel and you could even damage something if you dont know how to overclock so heres my suggestion:

buy the ram you picked, put it in the motherboard you picked and let the bios set the timings automatically, it will run smoothly and you shouldnt have any problems at all
