Dual Screen Help.

Postby saunt » Wed Jan 10, 2007 10:59 pm

Heya everyone. I've been trying to set up my two monitors to work in dual screen. Do you know the different ways dual screen can work? I was hoping that i would be able to have one screen (the bigger one 22") running a game and the other (15") doing other tasks at the same time. i don't even know if this is possible.

All the websites I've looked have told me to right click on the desktop, and go to properties and then settings, and you should see two monitors. I only see one.

Example: the websites say i should see

whereas i see a picture of one monitor. no boxes, and there isn't two of them!!!

I know both screens are working, because i can use the nvidia control panel to have an extended desktop, but i don't have individual control over their resolutions, so one always looks really shitty.

Any ideas?? I hope u understand what i mean. Thanx.

As far as I can tell, things are working as they should for you. nVidia drivers are taking over for what you normally see from Microsoft. Basically, you want to extend your desktop from one monitor onto two. Its always better to do this with two montors that are the same size.

From what I can tell, nVidia is only giving you an overall desktop resolution that is extended into the two monitors.

But to answer your question, yes you can run games in one monitor and do other things in the other monitor. I know many people that run World of Warcraft in one and Ventrillio in the other.

Sorry I cant be of more assistance on this one.
