New Graphics Card Problem

Postby jemmo » Thu Dec 28, 2006 7:17 pm

I have installed a new graphics card - PNY Technologies NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS (AGP slot).

Everything is fine EXCEPT, text on web pages is just not sharp. Everything else looks okay, but looking at web pages is giving me a headache. The text seems to be slighly blurred and no amount of fiddling with monitor setting/display setting is making it pin sharp (as it was previously with my old (ancient) Matrox card)

I have a Samsung Syncmaster 913v monitor.

Any ideas anyone?

jemmo,

First of all make sure that you have the latest drivers from .

Blurry text is usually the result of the wrong Antaliasing setting I find it best to set antaliasing to "Application Controlled"

Does this mean I can stop responding to your other thread about using two video cards?

Cheers Gecko.

Yes - change of plan with regard to the video capture solution - new graphics card and a firewire connector.
Haven't tried it yet but I belive this solution should work as the new graphics card should (I am told) be able to cope with the video input.

Okay - downloaded & installed drivers for graphics card and monitor. Still the same.
Antialalsing and Anisotropic Filtering (whatever that is) are both set to APplication Controlled.
Most annoying.

Have you tried a different browser like ?

If this only happen in Internet Explorer, try changing the default font:
Control panel > Internet options > General tab > Font button.

Yep - Firefox has cured the web text problem - sharp as a sharp thing on a sharp day on planet Sharp.

Cheers Gecko.
