Beta 1 was leaked. Beta 2 is for certain subribers only.

I have the Vista theme on my PC at the moment. It's pretty snazy. Changes everything, font, toolbars, taskbar, sounds, boot/log in screens, and it all looks really nice.

You can also change the transparency of each window, and the taskbar. How ever slightly transparent windows get annoying, as it makes it harder to tell what you're clicking, but the transparant taskbar is nice. I'll post screenshots of that later so you know what it looks like, i'm too lazy to do it now.

Good news, I found a link to download Windows Vista 2! It comes in ISO format and is just over 3GB.

All you have to do is register with an email adress for a microsoft net passport, and say you either own a website, or make software, or a few other of the computer related options

As it is in the beta stages there are bound to be a few bugs and glitches, so it's probably best not to install it on your primary computer, or if you only have one computer in your household. Also, I'm not sure if games will work on it or not, so i'm not too sure if I should download it or not.

hmm windows vista GUI Design doesnt look all that ? whats new features of vista that are better then xp's ? if anyone hasnt posted them already?

Hrmmm, regarding the required system specs, umm with the graphics card, would a 6600GT be fine or do i have to get something along the lines of a 7800GT or 7900GT? Sorry for the off-topic junk.

In reply to Jas0n, your card should be fine to run the "aero" look, all that needs is a DX 9 card. I think your card shouldn't have a problem with the new alt-tab feature.

It's on a DVD --so trying to download with less than a T1 line, could be time consuming.

Microsoft says 2 to 4 weeks for delivery, from my experiece its more like 2 to 4 days, they're fast. Hopefully it will be leaning against my door Monday.

Ah. I wasn't aware it cost anything because I haven't got it yet. Sorry about that.

Does it cost to download? I got to the Save/Run download menu, and I didn't have to enter any bank details, but maybe you have to pay to activate it? I don't know. But I presumed you would have to pay for the DVD of it, as if Microsoft would give something away for free.

Has anyone downloaded it?
