I know that you said that you spyware checks are clean but there still could be something lurking in the background.

Please download , unzip it to it's own folder.
Start HijackThis and select 'Do a system scan and save a logfile'
Now post the contents of the logfile back into this thread

and yes i know i have two anti-virus. norton is expired and ive been to lazy to uninstall it it. i play on getting it again but in the mean time im using avg.

Have you checked the folder's properties > sharing tab to make sure it not set to private?
Are you logged in with admin rights?

nope just a few updates. i think the most recent new programs are avg which is a couple months old, and the call of cthulhu deck builder also a couple months ago.

i had a second harddrive but the cable crapped out so i plan on getting a new cable this weekend.

By the way, a greyed out check box isn't a bad thing. It simply means that he isn't running his system in NTFS mode. He's running Windows XP in FAT32 mode, which doesn't support passwording folders.
