I only have one machine (server) with a dial-up connection and its set to never disconnect when idled. The dial up connection is shared through the network so the other 2 machines think there on broadband, no dial up icon. The wireless card itself is whats disconnecting and aquiring a new IP but only on the machine with SP2. My SP1 machine doesnt have this problem which bugs me even more.

It’s a long shot but have you made sure that under device manager > properties of the card > power management tab
“Allow the computer to turn of this device to save power” is not checked

I didnt have a power management tab but i found the power settings in an advanced tab and its set to constantly awake. I did find that i have TxBurst and TxPower options and burst was disables and power was set to auto so now i have burst enabled and power set to 100%. Im awating the results now.

Results are in,
disconnect-reconnect-disconnect-reconnect-disconnect-reconnect
roughly 5 to 10 minuite intervals
