Hijackthis now log

Postby mithril » Mon Feb 06, 2006 10:38 pm

Something is slowing my comp to a crawl with tons of popups. Here is my HJT logfile. Interesting note, I cant seem to boot into safe mode at all....when I do I just get a blank screen and no desktop. Only way to run programs is ctrl-alt-delete and run them directly from there. Also, spybot is coming up completely clean.

Please print these instructions out for use in Safe Mode.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop:
http://www.atribune.org/downloads/VundoFix.exe

Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files.
This will create a VundoFix folder on your desktop.
After the files are extracted, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode.
You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears.
Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat

You will first be presented with a warning.
It should look like this:
VundoFix V2.15 by Atri
By using VundoFix you agree that you are doing so at your own risk.
Press enter to continue
At this point press Enter one time.
Next you will see:
Please Type in the filepath as instructed by the forum staff
and then press enter:

At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):
C:\WINDOWS\system32\jkhfd.dll

Press Enter to continue with the fix.
Next you will see:
Please type in the second filepath as instructed by the forum
staff then press enter:
At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):
C:\WINDOWS\system32\dfhkj.*

Press Enter to continue with the fix.
The fix will run then Hijack This will open, if it does not open automatically please open it manually.

In HiJackThis, please place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:

O2 - BHO: ATLDistrib Object - {2353FCBC-012D-487B-8BF3-865C0929FBEB} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\jkhfd.dll
O20 - Winlogon Notify: jkhfd - C:\WINDOWS\system32\jkhfd.dll

After you have fixed these items, close HijackThis.
Press enter to exit the program then manually reboot your computer.
The fix will tell you to shutdown using the Power button. Hold in your power button until the computer shuts down. Wait about 15 seconds and then restart the computer into regular windows.
Chkdsk will run. This is normal. It will take a few minutes and is checking your file system because of the Bad Shutdown we caused.

Once your machine reboots please continue with the instructions below.

Run HijackThis and post a fresh log and the vundofix.txt file from the vundofix folder.

Hey gecko, thank you for your help again. I followed your post exactly, couple things of note. First....when I boot into safe mode I still do not get a desktop (just a black screen with the servicepack version along the top). I was able to run vundo by hittting ctrl-alt-del and using browse to get to desktop and the right folder. here are the logs, the program is still there:

Yes it's still there
Lets see if another removal tool will pick it up.
Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:
http://www.atribune.org/downloads/l2mfix.exe
http://www.downloads.subratam.org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe.
Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop.

Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter.
This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log.
Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Yes you are infected

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix, by typing 2 and then pressing enter,
then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal).
L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log.
Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

What you will need for this fix:
1. These directions printed out
2. Windows XP CD
3. If you have a SATA hard drive you will need the SATA raid drivers on a floppy
4.

Downloaded

Install Bart's PE Builder and used it to build a bootable .iso file with the Windows XP CD.

Burn the ISO image with your chosen program to make a bootable CD

Boot the system from the bootable CD, (press F6 to installed the raid drivers if needed)
You might have to edit you BIOS to make the CD the first boot device.

Once the system has boot to Bart's pe click on the Bart’s Start and select Command
Now type the following in the command window pressing enter after each line:
cd c:\windows\system32
del jkhfd.dll
del krdlv1.dll
del rmmps.dll
del dfhkj.ini2
del dfhkj.bak2
del dfhkj.ini
del dfhkj.tmp
del dfhkj.bak1
del cccdd.ini2
del cccdd.bak2
del cccdd.bak1
del cccdd.ini
del cccdd.tmp
exit

Now reboot the system after you remove the bootable CD.
You will most likely get some error pop ups about missing files that’s OK
Post a new Hijackthis log and we will fix those pop ups
