Strange AIM

So my AIM acts strange. When my computer starts up the AIM logon screen appears, I type in my password and start to login. It gets to step two, then freezes and I have to end task it. Ill repeat this again, maybe making it to my buddy list, then freezing and having to end task it. It takes maybe three times of having to end task before I actually get to use AIM. I have uninstalled and installed it countless times and nothing seems to solve this problem.

Here's how to disable AIM running on startup...

With the program open and on top, hit F3 to bring up the prefrences menu. Click the sign on/sign off tab and uncheck the box that says "Start AIM when windwos starts" and click apply.
