Blank temporary Internet file location

Postby Shindig » Sun Jun 12, 2005 11:46 am

am having this problem at work.
From the attachment you can see that Windows/ explorer can not locate the path for Temp Net files. If i however click on "show files" a window with the correct path location and files is shown.

I have checked all instances in the registry, and compared the specific reg keys of this one, with a pcs that shows up the location.

I believe this to be a bug within WinXp and or IE.

If i enter any amount in the "amount of disk space window" i get an error saying " i can only enter an amount between 0 and 1"

guys any ideas, its driving me nuts

If you set it to 1, does the path show up in that window?

it still returns the same error message.

I really think this is a MS ./ IE bug
running IE version 6.0.2800.1106

would be great to find the fault, but i think a update/re-install of IE is the route to go down

I am indeed logged in as a user with total admin rights to the PC and the network.

75% of the time the problem is cured by loggin off and login back in again. But this from a ICT techs point of view is not acceptable.

I cant believe you replied with that.

Why does everyone blame everything on spyware, yes spyware does create probs... but as soon as someone has an error.......... "oh yeah spyware"

This has nothing to do with spyware what so ever!!!

[edit]
seemed to be the download and internet filter in Mcafee 4.5.1 causing the prob!
cheers for the help anyway Gecko!!!
