Tip: Get ready for some sore fingers until they get hardened up.

Ah...A and F, yep they can suck, to me F is worse than A. I play alot of blues in E, which usually gives me a progression of E, A, and B Flat so A isnt a big deal. A tip for F is to play it as a bar chord in the first fret instead of a traditional F, for me its easier.

A very big tip is to be patient. Guitar takes quite a bit of time, patience and as BPB says tough fingers.

The most important thing to know with tabs are that their actually upside down.

E|-------------------------------------------------------=bottom(smallest) string
B|------------------------------------------------------
G|------------------------------------------------------
D|-------------0-2-------------------------------------
A|--2--2---2-2-----2--2---2-2--0-1------------------
E|--------------------------------------------------------=top(biggest)string

The number tells you what fret
The lines show you what strings

when you have numbers directly over each other, it generally represents a full chord. It also means that you pick all of those strings at the same time. This is a full G

E|--------3---------------------------------------------------------=bottom string
B|--------0----------------------------------------------------------
G|--------0----------------------------------------------------------
D|--------0----------------------------------------------------------
A|--------2----------------------------------------------------------
E|--------3---------------------------------------------------------=top string

This is a full A

E|------0----------------------------------------------------------=bottom string
B|------2-----------------------------------------------------------
G|------2-----------------------------------------------------------
D|------2----------------------------------------------------------
A|------0----------------------------------------------------------
E|-----------------------------------------------------------------=top string

If a string has a 0 it means you play that string open, if it has no number it means you dont use that string in that chord it particular riff.

To play a F as a bar chord, you would use your index finger to "bar" down all the strings on the 1st fret at the same time.(see pic) Use your ring and pinky fingers to hold the 2nd and 3rd string from the top in the 3rd fret. Use your middle finger to hold down the 4th string in the 2nd fret. If you can manage that, you've made a bar chord.

E|------1-----------------------------------------------------------=bottom string
B|------1------------------------------------------------------------
G|------2------------------------------------------------------------
D|------3-----------------------------------------------------------
A|------3----------------------------------------------------------
E|------1-----------------------------------------------------------=top string

I hope some of that might actually help and not confuse you :D

Heres more stuff that might help

cool yea me understand what you mean liljim :D . The tab bit i still a little confused 2 means 2nd fret? but why 2 - 2 2 - 2- then 0 ? i read that means play open string ?

And i know the fingering for the F chord just the first finger that i hold the first fret down its hard to make it push down so much when i put my other fingers on the other frets and strings if you understand?

It seems like my fingers just dnt wanna reach sometimes to.... :|

Happy playin :)

Yeah the 0 means u don't press anything and just play the string on it's own, so u play it open like you said. I've been playing for about 2 - 3 years and i still can't play F chords right

Your fingers will become supple enough to reach soon just be patient.

All the best. :)

Hopefully i'll be getting a new guitar soon, i just got paid so i could get one anytime now. Then i think i'll get a bass guitar aswell. hmmmm need money for driving lessons and a car tho! :(
