"MISSING" space !

Postby debsteve1 » Thu Mar 31, 2005 11:48 pm

Hi, I have just done a fresh install of windows XP pro onto a 10GB partition. I have loaded most of the software I want and then i noticed that every single file/folder (USED SPACE in my computer) adds upto 2.2GB HOWEVER the properties is saying that there is 3.06GB of space used on this (C) patition. so where is my almost 1GB of space gone?. I have searched everywhere for an answer and LOL im still searchin. Please help. P.S. I have tried this using fat32 and ntfs file systems and also changed cluster sizes about nothing making much difference.

IM GETTING ANOYED with this one.

Thanks Steve.

the rest is probably hidden files and folders, if you opened C:, selected everything and checked the file size, it wont include hidden files.
