IE and link colors

Postby Junior_co » Mon Feb 14, 2005 11:40 am

I know that you can change what color a link turns after it has been visited, but I have a situation and would like to know if ya have any thoughts

Me better half does a lot of researching of stocks... She will research the same stocks, over and over, several days in a row... Every time she clicks on a stock link, it turns to the color selected under IE Options. The problem is that if she clicks on a stock 5 days ago, it still shows that it was visited.... This get confusing.

She was wondering if there was a way to change the color of a link visited manually? This would help her keep track of what stock and when she had checked out....

Any thoughts

Thanks again

The only way i know to refresh the colour in a link is to clear out your temp files or run a history cleaner like or ... it is actually very quick and easy to run either of these programs... especially Ccleaner which is a very small and simple program.

Hey Lilpink.... thanks for the links.

I spoke to me better half today and got more info... What she would like to happen is to clear the links every night. We can do this manually but if there is a way to set up IE or one of those two programs to do this once a day.... That is the way we'll go

Thanks again

This might work also:

On Internet Explorer go to Tools-->Internet Options--> Advanced

scroll down to "Empty temp internet files folder when browser closed" and check it

I also check the one above it, "Do not save encripted pages to disk"

This will slow down things on a dial up connection, it has to go out and get it all over again.
