Your favorite XP trick...

Postby Junior_co » Thu Jan 20, 2005 3:31 pm

I was thinking about all the little "hidden" features that everybody seems to know one or twoi of.....

Thought that we could all learn a little trick on how to use Windows a little better...

Here is mine.....

When ever you are typing in an ".com" address into windows Internet Explorer (works with Firefox too) just type in the name and hold the CTRL button and hit ENTER. It will add the www, the .com and then go there for you

Example.. type pctechforums hold CTRL press ENTER

next thing you know, you are here! It's a little thing but after you do it a few times it becomes second nature and you'll find yourself doing it all the time....

Don't know of any tricks for other domains though

So, now what's your trick??

wow that's cool. didn't kno that one.

You probably all kno this one but it's quite funny:

Open a blank Word document, Type '=rand(200,99)', press Enter
not rly much of an XP trick i know, but hey.

And also, try making a new folder and call it "con"

If you push shift and enter after putting in the domain you can get a .net domain.

If you do a search for chocolate pecan cookies you will come up with about 20,000 sites with every possible combination of chocolate, pecan and cookies. If you do a search with "chocolate pecan cookies" using the quotation marks you will get recipes for chocolate pecan cookies

Here's something I posted a while ago in some other topic

If you hold down Ctrl and move the scroll wheel on the mouse, you can change the size of web page fonts.
