MSSBLST.VXD error...

Postby Cactus » Sun Oct 19, 2003 5:57 am

I had to recently re-format my hard drive.
Then I re-installed all the hardware but I keep getting a error messege on bootup that says "MSSBLST.VXD is either not present or failed to load..."

I click ok and windows continues to load with sound.
I then went and looked for the file inthe Windows System folder but it wasn't there.
I went to Mr.Driver and downloaded the MSSBLST.VXD file and put it in the sys folder but it still says its not there.

Anybody help me on this one?

What Operating System are you running?
Sounds like Win95.
Try this:
Reboot your computer and press F8 to get to Start Menu. Choose Safe mode. Go to Device Manager and remove all drivers for sound card...
shutdown reboot into Normal Windows and reinstall the correct drivers...
this should get it. You will probably need your Windows CD.

I sure did Brad and that was all it took to fix it.
I went to the Device Manager and deleted the SoundBlasterLive drivers then rebooted.
The drivers were then correctly installed!

Thanks again Brad!!
