It’s a lot different editing a PHP theme than just a regular html page.

You should have a subdirectory for your theme named “style”
inside this directory should be a file named style.css
This style.css file controls your font type, border colors, background colors,
form elements and header settings, among other things.
You can edit this file in notepad or your choice of a PHP editor.

All of the images that make-up the theme are in the “images” subdirectory.
You will have to edit these in your imaging editor software like Photoshop.

I have PS7 FULL. I have Evrsoft 1st page as an editor. Its an HTML editor, but loads php aswell. I know nothing about PHP, and any advice is greatly appreciated.

Site content. There is no index page and I dont have a clue on how to make a PHP Index page. Mainly cuz i dont know php at all.

The theme.php file (which i thought was the main page) only shows text, and not a site...

What am I doing wrong?

You need a webserver that has PHP installed and a mySQL database.

PHP-Nuke has a complete installation guide

I will give you a quick rundown:
First go to and download a “Web Installer” for your version of PHP-Nuke

You need to ftp the two directories “html” and “sql” to your web root
Then you need to set file permission for these two directories to chmod 755 and their files to chmod 644
You will also need to upload the “Web Installer” files to the root also.

Next you will need to create your mysql database through your web hosting control panel,
remember the name of this empty database.

Now point your browser to w ww.yoursite.com/nukesql.php
Once you successfully complete this setup it will complete you config.php.

You should now be able to see your php-nuke page at w ww.yoursite.com

To administer you site go to w ww.yoursite.com/admin.php

Well after countless hours of uploading the same things over and over again (those damn languages) I finally finished uploading. However, this is what i get:
