Firefox 1.0 Download Manager

Postby liljim » Mon Dec 06, 2004 10:31 am

I decided to try out firefox and thunderbird. Both have been nice, theres enough difference from IE and OE to make you want to use it yet simular enough so you know how to use them. The only issue im running across is the download manager in firefox doesnt want to resume a download in the event my internet gets disconnected (dialup),which happens more often than i would like :( .Is there any patches or anything to address this or is it even a common issue?

Are there enough dialup users left to run across this issue?

I've not run into this myself, but the ability to resume does depend on the server supporting it as well as your client, so have you checked the same download in both browsers?

if u would like to know, there are a lot of 56k users from where i come from...

as for your question, i use firefox 0.92 still but when i get disconnected, i simply overwrite the downloaded file (i copy&pasted it first though) and it continues where it left off... or where it was when i got disconnected...

i did this many times, it worked though im not sure it works all the time... i cant remember...

hope that helps... maybe u can try it...
