Anyone here an FTP expert? I have a problem.

I occasionally FTP files from my PC to my laptop using FlashFXP. It's been very fast for the first two weeks I used it transferring files at 3-5mb/s. The last two nights it's been between 42-46kb/s and very consistent like it's maxing out at a limit. It climbs rapidly to 44kb/s and then it's just flat. Something must have changed on my PC but I'm not sure where to even start looking. I updated my NIC driver and that had no effect. I tried a different FTP client and it topped out at 44kb/s like FlashFXP did. I checked the cables to make sure there is a good connection and no cables were kinked or anything like that. Any suggestions?

Have you tried reinstalling your FTP software... or maybe there is an update available for the FlashFXP?

I'm curious as to why you use FTP to begin with.How are you actually connecting the machines together?Do they both have NIC's?
