XP Pro Dual Booting

Postby welch » Fri Nov 26, 2004 4:26 am

I was wondering how to get rid of the screen that asks what Os to boot. I slaved an extra harddrive into my faster machine to instal Windows XP Pro, then removed it but the orginal machine still thinks it can boot from there. Both OS are XP Pro. If more info is needed just ask. Thanks for your time.

Click on start>run then type msconfig and press enter

Click on the BOOT.ini tab then the "Check all boot paths" button.

If there's an invalad directory it will ask you to remove it,click yes and reboot.

Right click my computer, properties, advanced tab, settings button under startup and recovery, uncheck time to display list of operating systems. Just make sure you have the right OS as your default.
