Edit: I've found 4 virus's with Trend, all of which are in System. lol I don't know what to doabout them after recent virus+antivirus events. =/

Yes if you had the XP CD you could do a Repair.
But I think we'll get this cleaned up ....

**(Always create a Folder for HiJackThis anywhere but your Temp/Temporary Internet Folders. This is where it will save the backup files needed if there's a problem.)**

Press Ctrl/Alt/Del and "End Task" or "End Process" on each of the following: (They may or may not be there)

manager32.exe
msgn.exe
cerec.exe
ciaerver.exe
CxtPls.exe
058574uk.exe
Weather.exe

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.) Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {016235BE-59D4-4CEB-ADD5-E2378282A1D9} - C:\Program Files\CxtPls\CxtPls.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [qs4X37e] cerec.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AutoUpdater] "C:\Program Files\AutoUpdate\AutoUpdate.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft Update] msgn.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MS Manager32 Startup] manager32.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Microsoft Update] msgn.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [MS Manager32 Startup] manager32.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [bBv7RXKEe] ciaerver.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Microsoft Update] msgn.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MS Manager32 Startup] manager32.exe

The next are optional, but recommended for removal,Resource hogs and not needed on startup, but does not disable the program:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_05\bin\jusched.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WildTangent CDA] RUNDLL32.exe "C:\Program Files\WildTangent\Apps\CDA\cdaEngine0400.dll",cdaEngineMain
***NOTE*** IF YOU DID NOT INSTALL WILD TANGENT GOTO ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS AND REMOVE IT

Go to Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs and remove the
following if they are there:

WeatherBug
Microsoft Update
MS Manager32 Startup
AutoUpdater
bBv7RXKEe
qs4X37e
CxtPls

Now delete these Folders or Files that are Highlighted: (You may need enable "Show all Files" and disable "Hide System Files" in Windows Explorer / Tools / Folder Options / View Tab) (You may have to boot to "Safe Mode" in order to delete some Files/Folders)

C:\WINDOWS\System32\manager32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\msgn.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\cerec.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\ciaerver.exe
C:\Program Files\CxtPls\CxtPls.exe
C:\Program Files\AWS\WeatherBug\Weather.exe

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders (WinXp has up to 4 of them) / Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin" and Reboot.

Turn on System restore, before opening your browser goto TOOLS>INTERNET OPTIONS and make sure your Homepage is correct,if not ,type the URL you would like in the HomePage box.

Now re-run HJT and post a new logfile back here.

Not long after my last post I managed to stop my coputer working at all. This happened when I downloaded WinXP Service Pack 2. I didn't expect a servive pack to slow down comp and stop me getting on net, which this servive pack did, so I deleted it. I restarted my comp after deleting the servive pack, expecting to be able to get back online and noiticed that my PC's resolution was now like in safe mode. After only a few minutes I found myself being told I had new hardware and watching my comp redtart after this. I couldn't see it getting much worse after this, however my comp then decided it didn't need to start at all - instead it told me I was missing a key WinXP program/file and needed repair disc. I don't have a repair disc, and although I manged to get a copied WinXP disc it didn't work. As you can imagine, II felt a tiny bit pissed off about my new computer problem on top of my previous one that I posted this thread about. But Ithanks to a small computer repair shop up town and £25 I've got my PC working again after he reinstalld WinXP, even saving my 70+ GB anime, music, films, etc...though not my programs I had just reinstalled before all this.

Anyway, here is my new Hijackthis log -

Nope. The guy who fixed my WinXP seems to have fixed all my previous PC issues. Pretty good for only 25 quid, eh?

The only problem I have left now with my DVD burner/writer and why I can't open a DVD-R that has a Xvid file burnt on, which I made another thread for

Cheers for the help mate.
