PSU causing lag spikes?

Postby Shadow_pig » Wed Oct 01, 2003 8:15 am

Is it my psu causing the lag spikes in games? i have spent all night twiddling with settings in the bios and windows.. and no matter what i do the problem still persists, to be honest my games were running fine this morning from 3am till around 6:30am and then they started lagging.

I used a 145W psu before this one and now its a 250W on the box of radeon it does say "Be sure to have at least a 300w power supply unit inside your case to ensure normal operation when a number of devices are installed in your computer".. Ok.. would this cause it? but what i dont understand is that if the psu is causing this then why does it only happen sometimes.

i dont want to go wasting cash for nothing on a new PSU. i also need to know what PSU would be best to buy if anyone can tell me.

I really need help with this.. i feel like breaking my computer into bits!! all i want to do is play lag free games like before.

You've posted this in your other thread, so to save 2 conversations running I'll close this post and ask people to post ideas to this (very annoying!!) problem in the original thread - see
