DVD Decryptor

Will that turn a DVD into a file that can be played on the computer such as .avi? If not what can I use to put DVD's on my hard disk and play them from my hard disk?

Well the easiest thing to do would be to install a DVD-Rom drive.
They are very inexpensive... and

One of the other Moderators or a member will be able to help you with your Conversion from DVD to AVI better than I.
I just wanted to let you know just how cheap a plain jane DVD-Rom drive really is.

Hey, id say the easyest thing would be to use maby divX. I have Dr Divx which you would have to buy or try the free period if you can find one. Well what youd have to do is copy every thing from the dvd to a file n then load dr divx n convert the file to .avi with the divx codec.

That make sence?

Well I don't care how I do it. I really don't have ANY money so I would have to find a Trial, but does that do MPEG too. What is the best kind of file? I was thinking it was MPEG or is it something else. Let me know and where to get one. By the way I have a DVDROM drive.

another thing is, how do I copy everything to a file. Right now I used DVD Decryptor and copied everything to a file folder. Is that good enough or does it have to be one file? I dont know how to do that other than make an ISO of it.

iso no good here, thing is, you may not get far with out buying software, or at least getting it of suprnova, alot of dvd's are copy protected. So you may not be able 2 copy the files to the pc. there are other methods of doing it mind you.
Mpeg are used for like dvd players, vcd's n svcd's n dvd's need ot be liek mpeg or mpeg 2, avi will be better compression tho.

just seen that seems 2 be allrite, n another thing they do take ages to compess movies.

Also this site looks ok

May be that your Computer is to slow, sounds like your runtime is messed up. Not enough RAM or processor beef.

Here, this is a VERY helpful site to me, anyhow, use it quite a bit.

I'm running a 2.15 GHz CPU and 512 MB of DDR400. It shouldn't be too slow.
