Sure Pedros - There are sevreal on line tools that you can use to tweak your connection. The place I would recommend you start at is » They are about the best place to go for tweaks /tests/tools for your broadband connection, in my mind anyways. There are other places out there but they mostly just have speed tests.
Also- what game are you playing when this happens?

Hey! The way I did it is I used the speed test 1st. Then printed out the results. Then I did the online tweak tester. Then I adjusted the recommended adjustments from the results list with DR TCP. Ran a speed test again and noted the diffrence which for me was a big improvement. :)

Speed Test»

Online Tweak Tester 2 »

Dr. TCP»

Hope it helps!

yeah , I'd say the distance could be a factor.....shutting down background processes does seem to help...it's most prevalent when playing half-life,(particularly the mods ) and doom3. .......I have seen a tweak where you "unpak" a certain file in DOOM3 which then supposedly gives better performance...not game to try that yet,
