Buying ram

hey, it's been long since i've participate in this website.

Well, my question is that i have a 256 ram, Can i just by a 512 and added to my 256. Or do i have to by the same ram capacity (256) ?

If your MOBO supports it which I'm sure it does,you can add a 512MB stick.
I would put the 512MB in Slot1 and the 256MB in behind in Slot2.
