Very confused

Postby ktdancoff » Fri Oct 08, 2004 6:55 pm

Good morning all,
I am having a strange problem that I can't seem to figure out. Monday morning I got hijacked by www.findwhatevernow.com. I dorked around with my registry, did all I could with Adaware and Hijack this so I decided to jsut reformat my machine...I know it is the cowards way out, but I like to reformat everyone once in a while anyway. Actually ended up formatting twice opened up my IE6 and that fake MSN page that www.findwhatevernow.com puts up popped up first thing. How can that be???

I am on my PC at work that runs through a Proxy; if I assign myself a static IP the fake MSN site pops up but if I go through the Proxy IE goes to my normal home page...does this make sense to anybody? I am going to attach my Hijack this report just in case it helps resolve the issue. Thanks to you all for any help!!

Kevin

Hi ktdancoff...there should be more to the logfile than what is posted.
Can you post the entire logfile that was produced.

Thx

Thanks Cactus,
I have never used Hijack This before my current incident so I am possibly doing something wrong. I went through the Config tab and checked everything that sounded reasonable but still came up with a similar list. If you have any idea where I am goofing up please let me know =)

I am going to list my Hijack This log for going through the Proxy first and then my HJ Log for the static IP second. I just noticed that the DNS address keeps getting deleted as soon as I close out of IE6...not sure if that is a related issue or if I am experiencing multiple problems.

Blah, blah, blah, I talk to much...

Thanks again for the help!
