Ok I'm gathering you D/L from one of the top 2 links I posted.
The second set of links I posted are updated drivers.

D/L the newer drivers then go back into Device Manager and Highligh your Display Adapter and then click UPDATE DRIVERS.
Point to the folder you put the drivers into.
Make sure if its a ZIP file to UNZIP it in that folder you D/L the file to.

After you rebooted did you go back into Device Manager and see if there was a Image beside the Display Adapter?
If not do that and post back.

Ok..those are the newest drivers for that Graphic Card.
I'll search around and see if I can find you a solution.
In the mean time maybe someone will come up with a fix.

I'm not vary familliar with that card n82...
I'll see if I can find any compatibilty problems between it and Direct x 9.
In the mean time do you have another Graphic card you can try?

Maybe someones alittle more familliar with S3 Graphics cards and knows of a fix.

Cactus, I don't even know what a Graphic card is, I just know I need somethin to play this game which cost me half a weeks rent, I dunno whether to cry or scream, and I'm sure I'm stretching ur patience too with my bein so dumb. How do I get a Graphic card? Should I unistall somethin then reinstall somethin else? Or would I be best off just throwin pc & game out the window?

No...don't be doing that, and no I'm not losing my patience n82,thats why were here,to help you find a solution.

Your Graphic card is the same as a Display Adapter.
You'd have to remove the case inorder to upgrade your Graphic Card.

Let's make sure first that there are no known issues and/or a work-around for the problem.
Have patience, solutions sometimes take time to find.

Can you post the Make and Model of your PC with any known System Specs like :
How big is your HDD?
How much Memory do you have?
We know your OS is WinXP...
