I'm not a real gamer but slowly getting into it...Image
Friends at work talked me into putting up an Unreal Tournament G.O.T.Y. edition server.
So now we can go on-line and kick the crap out each other with no one getting hurt..Image..Image

Let's see no real new games...
Once my new pc is finished I'll check out FAR CRY!
Any thoughts on that game venney :?:

well i ahvent played farcry, i could borrow it froma mate but im lazy and havent gone to his for a while, but how ever i do know some things about it. apparently the detail is great. like u can hit your head on light bulbs and stuff.
doom 3 an ok game, its quiet scary. unreal tournimant is a brilliant game. also about far cry i think you can go your own compelte way through levels. ive been told say you are doing a level near a mountain, the hole mountain loads and u can go up which ever way pleases you and take differnt paths. i may check it out my self.
if you are into 3rd person games a definate recomendation is star wars jedi accademy.
whats your new pc going to be like?
also you said you set up an ut server, you mite want to look into counter strike for you and your freinds to play. i think thats alot better than ut.
write back!

Far Cry is definatly worth checking out.I finished the single player campaign and i must say it was very challenging.I dont recall hitting my head on anything but ,the enviroment is pretty interactive and it is true about the maps. You can pretty much choose whatever direction you want to go as long as you end up at the location your HUD is telling you you need to be.There's quite a few vehicles and weapons throughout the game that make it pretty interesting.

Another game that falls close to the same catagory is Halo:Combat Evolved. The surroundings dont quite hold the same detail however its still a great game.It has a pretty interesting storyline if you pay attention.

Doom 3....I must say ALOT of time went into developing this game. There are things hidden all over the place, you MUST pay attention to every word that gets spoken, every email, audio log, video disk etc. or your going to miss alot. Its extremely intense and the graphics are unmatched by any other game i've played so far.I have to run the video settings on low quality to play even though i met the system requirements. Its going to take a machine such as cactus's new one to fully enjoy this game as it was meant to be.

Farcry I love! I'm playing it atm - I've got Doom3 too, although so far I'm preferring the freeform aspect of farcry :)
