Bittornado Vs. Norton Antivirus

Postby ArtemRose » Tue Sep 07, 2004 7:09 am

Hey all,
I've got something of a problem. You see, I've got Norton antivirus (corp. ed.) and I just installed Bittornado. I checked the status light, trying to make it switch to green from the yellow that wont go away. I tried disenabling the realtime protection option on Norton, but it had no effect. I've already got the internet security for WinXP turned off, but I cant figure out how to get past the Norton Firewall. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

HELP ME SOLVE THIS SATANISTIC PROBLEM PLEASE!!!

I don't quite understand the link between a bittorrent client and Norton AV? Where is this status light?

hey ArtemRose,
i had the same problem, until i fixed it. what you need to do is open the correct ports throught he firewall, i dont think turning it off makes much differnce. i opend about 6 ports and my bittornado worked on green. how ever, to tell the truth i havent seen any change in my downlaod speed, i have adsl 10X broadband and i only get a top speed of like 30 at the most. at the moment im not actually on my pc so i cant tell you which ports i did. but when i get home next il try.
alturnativly you could lok on the internet for opening ports on he net and find a guide how to do it, ask if you get. hopefully i will of helped you slightly
