Good Enough Setup?

Postby msenz07 » Sat Aug 21, 2004 12:08 pm

Hey i want to get Half-Life 2 and Doom 3, and I'm wondering if my Setup is good enough. The whole PC is stock, i never upgraded anything hardware wise really but here it is:

Intel Pentium 4 (1800 GHz) Processor
512 ram
80 GB hard drive
16x Cd/DVD drive
64mb Nvidia Geforce2 MX tv-out

I'm sure the processor and the ram are good enough but i think the graphics card is crappy. I don't really want to spend alot of money on a new graphics card if i need to get one, so is there anything you guys suggest that costs like less than 100? thanks.

anyother helpful tips wouldbe appreciated.

I think you fall into a "borderline" category all the way around.Your current setup should play ok as long as the resolution and detail settings isnt turned up very high.

Here's a video card for less than $100

Please note that this is a 8X agp card which i doubt your board will support. However, this card will run at 4X thus allowing you to use it in your board.

I agree with Liljim...everything should be ok.
Thats a nice Vid Card he has suggested as well...
256MB of memory will be a noticable difference in performance.
