Well.. if it was just a driver.. it will have installed itself into windows (or WINNT - depending on your installation) and the System32 folders.. as it should

If there is an additional application type program with it.. it would likely have gone to c:\Program Files\USBReader (or something similar.. possibly the name of the manufacturer of the device)

I don't understand why you need to know where the driver installed to though.. if it has installed, your cards should show up as extra drives in 'My Computer' possibly only when you put cards in.. possibly not..

what exactly are you trying to do that not knowing this is a problem?

In your Device Manager, is the card reader marked with an exclamation point? If so you can right click the device, go to properties on the Driver tab click "Driver Details". You'll see the location of the installed files.

If Windows is not recognizing the drive, I'm going to take a stab and say that is the incorrect driver anyways.

Post the card reader specifics and we might be able to point you to the proper download location.

check your device manager for "standard enhanced usb pci to usb" under usb controlers. The key word is "enhanced." That means you have USB 2.0 capability.

Most of the "drivers" disks for usb are for Windows 98--you don't really need them for XP. The probable reason the install was so fast, it that your system didn't install them.

You might need to install a USB 2.0 card to get it up and running

are you perhaps saying you downloaded the drivers from the net, but can't find where it downloaded to?

You can download pretty much anything else, and that should point you to the last used folder, or re-download the driver by right clicking and choosing save as.
