mediafastclick tidbit

Postby badpolarbear » Mon Jun 14, 2004 7:56 pm

I was jumping around the net looking to see about mediafastclick with numbers attached such as mediafastclick63. I found a site that recommends you go to Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, in the Browsing column make sure there are no check marks in the 2 Install on Demand boxes, both (Internet Explorer) ans ( Other ) I have no idea what this does, maybe some one could explain it to me. MediaFastClick

Postby Sam1 » Fri Jul 09, 2004 1:07 pm

I have been searching to find a way to stop this intruder (MediaFastClick) too but with no results. It downloads once every day soon after turning on my computer and immediately brings up Tickle Me. Tickle Me would turn it off if they could but have no record of me. I have tried Badpolarbear's tip and that did not work. I would appreciate any advice! Thanks. Sam1 :?:

Download / Install / Update / and Run:
.
And:
.

If you're still having problems:
Download / install / and Update: . Now Run it and post a copy of the Log File here.
**(Always create a Folder for HiJackThis anywhere but your Temp/Temporary Internet Folders. This is where it will save the backup files needed if there's a problem.)**

MediaFast and Tickle Me

Postby Sam1 » Wed Jul 14, 2004 1:24 pm

Thanks Badpolarbear and Brad. I use Zone Alarm and finally found the culprit: 'NetTurbo'. I'm unsure whether MediaFast just hooked on to NetTurbo or has a deal with them, probably the latter, but Zone Alarm is now blocking NetTurbo and there is no MediaFast and no Tickle Me. I hope this is helpful to someone else! :)
