C:\WINDOWS\mxTarget.dll

I know just enough to get myself in trouble trying to remove this. I ran a system scan on norton and got 10 entries containing this, but it will not delete them. How do I delete this?

Download / Install / Update / and Run:
.
And:
.

Then:

Download / install / and Update: . Now Run it and post a copy of the Log File in the HiJackThis Forum.
**(Always create a Folder for HiJackThis anywhere but your Temp/Temporary Internet Folders. This is where it will save the backup files needed if there's a problem.)**

Neat Delete

Postby icecube » Tue Jul 06, 2004 4:13 am

To delete an undeletable file, first go to start-->run and type cmd. This will open up a dos prompt window. (make sure you know the directory address for the files to be deleted). Move that window to the top left of your screen. Now open up task manager by clicking on a blank area of the windows toolbar. In the task manager look for explorer.exe. Your going to stop that item. (your desktop is going to loose all of its icons). Leave the taskmanager alone and now move to the dos window. From the dos window go to the directory where the "undeleatable" is residing and del the item.
Now go back to the task manager (after you have finished your deletes). Click on file-->run and type in explorer.exe and hit return.

And you should be all set.
