After you've finished fixing this problem I strongly recommend that you visit the and download the Critical Updates.

First, turn off System Restore.
Then you need to remove "Twain-Tec" in Add/Remove Programs. Twiantec.dll is a transponder. HijackThis will detect it as a BHO but it must not be removed using HijackThis. This is because of the remaining registry entries and files which can be dangerous. Instead the following method of removal is preferable and complete:
Reboot the computer to Safe Mode, search for these files and delete if they are present: mxtarget.dll / mxtarget.ini / twaintech.dll / and twaintec.ini If twaintech.dll or mxtarget.dll are in use, then you would need to rename them, reboot the computer, and then delete them.

Now run HJT again and post a fresh Log File.

It's not always in Add/Remove Programs.
When you Boot into "Safe Mode" you get a Warning Window. Is that what you mean? Just click out of it.
You may be able to delete the files in "Normal Mode". Did you try?
When done, post a new HJT Log File.

Did you delete: mxtarget.dll / mxtarget.ini / twaintech.dll / and twaintec.ini ? They may not all be there.
Do a search of your C Drive to find them.
Post a fresh HiJackThis Log File.

After you've finished fixing this problem I strongly recommend that you visit the and download the Critical Updates.

Press Ctrl/Alt/Del and "End Task" or "End Process" on each of the following: (They may or may not be there)

wsaupdater.exe
alchem.exe
omniscient.exe
nndqej.exe
pnaddrd.exe

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.)
(This would also include the “GoBack” Program if it is installed.)
Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=C:\Windows\System32\wsaupdater.exe,
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {0000607D-D204-42C7-8E46-216055BF9918} - C:\WINDOWS\mxTarget.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [alchem] C:\WINDOWS\alchem.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Windows SA] C:\Program Files\WindowsSA\omniscient.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [dkvlzmz] C:\WINDOWS\System32\nndqej.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [pnaddrd] C:\WINDOWS\System32\pnaddrd.exe
O4 - Global Startup: Adobe Gamma Loader.lnk = ?
O9 - Extra button: Free History Cleaner (HKLM)
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Free History Cleaner (HKLM)
O16 - DPF: {1D4DB7D2-6EC9-47A3-BD87-1E41684E07BB} - http://ak.imgfarm.com/images/nocache/fu ... .0.0.8.cab
O16 - DPF: {DB893839-10F0-4AF9-92FA-B23528F530AF} - http://deposito.hostance.net/dialer/1015984.exe

Go to Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs and remove the following if they are there:

Free History Cleaner
WindowsSA

Now delete these Folders or Files that are Highlighted: (You may need enable "Show all Files" and disable "Hide System Files" in Windows Explorer / Tools / Folder Options / View Tab) (You may have to boot to "Safe Mode" in order to delete some Files/Folders)

C:\WINDOWS\System32\nndqej.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\pnaddrd.exe
C:\Program Files\WindowsSA
C:\Windows\System32\wsaupdater.exe
C:\WINDOWS\alchem.exe

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders (WinXp has up to 4 of them) / Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin" and reboot.

You're almost done.

After you've finished fixing this problem I strongly recommend that you visit the and download the Critical Updates.

Press Ctrl/Alt/Del and "End Task" or "End Process" on each of the following: (They may or may not be there)

cdefg.exe

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.)
(This would also include the “GoBack” Program if it is installed.)
Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [cdefg] C:\WINDOWS\System32\cdefg.exe

Now delete these Folders or Files that are Highlighted: (You may need enable "Show all Files" and disable "Hide System Files" in Windows Explorer / Tools / Folder Options / View Tab) (You may have to boot to "Safe Mode" in order to delete some Files/Folders)

C:\WINDOWS\System32\cdefg.exe

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders (WinXp has up to 4 of them) / Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin" and reboot.

Your Log looks good.
I think I'd have a talk with your "friend".
Did he load a "pirated" copy of WinXp?
Did you pay for a fresh WinXp install?
Did you have to Activate your WinXp when you got it installed?
WinXp can only be loaded on one computer per license.
