another XP Pro question

Postby badpolarbear » Sat Jun 19, 2004 4:41 pm

I have been finding that when I do a dialup connection there are certain IP addresses that are computer generating pings and trojans are being attempted on my system at a rate of about 30 per minute. Now the problem is when I go to Start, Run and enter ipconfig /all the command the prompt screen flashes for about half a second and then disappears. The only way I can find my IP address is to go Start, All Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt and type in ipconfig /all. Can somebody suggest how to get the command prompt screen to stay up when I go the Start, Run route.

If you are typing in a command such as ipconfig /all the box is disappearing because that particular command is designed to run in a dos box. You should type cmd in the run box and then when the window opens, you should then type ipconfig /all.
