Mother board or video card?

Postby Hooskerdo » Fri Jul 13, 2007 2:48 am

I have an Aopen ax4spe Max mother board...its pretty old. I also have a Radeon 9800 that has been overheating A LOT. Pretty much when I do anythiny sort of gaming. Anyways thats not the problem. I recently bought a AGP Sapphire X1650 pro video card and tried to install it. When I hooked it up correctly I could not turn on my computer, the only thing that happened was a little red light turning on. I looked it up and that light means that "you are trying to install a 3.3v video card" but I am 99% sure that this newer X1650 is not a 3.3v but a .8v. So do you think it is possible for the card to be faulty or is my mother board just not going to take this new of a videocard? As you can see, I am very clueless about what is happening.

ANY advice would help. Thanks.
