hard drive cloning

Postby mikeUK » Mon Jan 08, 2007 9:05 pm

hi everyone!

I have 2 hard drives in my computer, one is 40gb and currently has XP and general programs installed, the other is 300gb and is partitioned and organised into documents, games and large programs (photoshop cs2 etc) and multimedia files

The 300gb drive was put in last year but the first drive is 5 years old and I think the bearings are on their last legs.

So anyway I would like to get a new drive but don't want to have to reinstall everything!

QUESTION: Is there an app that would allow me to clone my disc onto a new drive, windows, registry and programs all installed.

would the new drive have to be the same make and model/capacity?

any other complications?

Cheers

Mike

Norton Ghost is your answer.

HD do not have to be the same size or make. You will lose nothing. It will be just as if your old HD grew bigger. :)
