internet running SOOOOOOOOO SLOWWWWWW

Postby ansmwke » Wed Feb 23, 2005 12:10 am

ok i have a t1 or t3 at school. and ive gone on dif computers and they are zoomy zoomy fast online. and i go on mine and i try downloading something from 22 t3 users on limewire and it downloads at 1kb/s. i try sending a photo through aim to someone with cable and it takes 5 minutes for a 72k pic. my aim keeps signing on and off like my internet keeps getting disconnected and reconnected and some websites i havbe to hit reload many times for it toload up. is there something i can do to make my internet experience more pleasurable?

thank you

Have you tried running anti-malware programs on your computer? Download, install, and update spybot search and destroy and adaware and run them. The links can be found on the upper left hand corner of the site. Also, update and run your anti virus, if you don't have a good one (norton, I hate norton :P) Try AVG or Avast!, both are free and good.

If you have done this, and I'm sure you have, post back here and let us know, that will narrow some possibilities down.

Go and run the Tweak tester.
This will tell you if your system is setup right for broadband.

Are you in a collage dorm room or something? What im thinking is if your hooking into a certain network drop in a certain room, there could be a problem with that particular line and not your machine. Has any other machines been tested on the same location your using? have you tested yours from a different location? Im just looking to eliminate possibilites.
