Self extractor problems

Postby kev975 » Wed Nov 17, 2004 11:25 pm

hi, im having problems with self extracting files i download from the internet on my home pc. everytime i download one, when i go to extract it, there is an error extracting, saying something about the download being corrupt usually. however, whenever i download the exact same file using my laptop, there is no problem and it extracts, but even when i tranfer the file across to the desktop, it has the same problems, so i figure its something to do with the self extracting cabinet? im usuing windows xp pro. im just wondering has anybody had problems like this or does anybody know a way to solve it as it driving me mad!! Cheers

What type of self-extracting files are you talking about?

Microsoft updates
Self-extracting Zip files
Program installers
